I know what to do with those bright plastic egg things when they're scattered all over the place. I'm becoming a pro. You're supposed to carry your basket while walking around picking up eggs and finally put them in your basket.
The first time I got to do that was last Sunday, March 16th. I had so much fun! I got to see so many relatives (Grandma Georgia's side) that I haven't seen in such a long time. I dyed my first egg! I chose the color red. My hand looked all bloody when I was finished (because of the red dye). Mommy took a couple pictures of it, I did such a wonderful job.
The second egg hunt I got to do was Saturday, March 22nd. The City of Eureka organized it. There were tons of eggs. I got lots of them plus lots of animal crackers. The nice lady told Mommy they usually have a ton of people show up, but because of the flooding some people couldn't make it. I hope they're all okay.
I get to do another egg hunt Sunday, March 31st. This time it's with Grandpa Vince's side of the family. I'm so excited, I can't wait to carry my basket again.

I never knew we had riverfront property, I thought it was just a lot of woods behind the house! But now we have a mile wide river that we can see through the trees (click the thumbnail to the right for a larger view)! Daddy left work early today in case I-44 closed, because every other way home was already closed and he didn't want to get stuck at work. It took him 3 hours because they had to block lanes of the road in a couple places so they can try to build emergency walls to help keep the highway open. Daddy said people were boating in "Times Beach Lake" and he saw a few buildings and houses under the water near Valley Park. Downtown Eureka is still dry, but lots of people are working hard to put sandbags around everything just in case the water makes it into town. There are a few pictures online here, some were taken thursday night before we went grocery shopping. Daddy also took a few from his cellphone camera on the way home. (Don't worry, he took them when the car was stopped because traffic wasn't moving!) |

After the caucus Mommy came home, changed clothes and changed my clothes, then she and I went to a wedding. We saw Peyton, Grandma Rosemary, Aunt Renee, Uncle John...well, let's just say a whole bunch of family. Weddings aren't that good for kids. I really didn't want to sit still very long. I wanted to walk, but Mommy wouldn't let me. I tried telling her that I need to practice since I just learned how, but she said it wasn't the right time...so...I just tried crawling under the pews. Mommy didn't like that either, but then the ceremony was over, so I got to walk...FINALLY!
After the wedding Mommy and I came home for a bit, then Mommy, Daddy and I went to the reception. Oh my, now that was sooooo much fun! Mommy let me walk EVERYWHERE and visit all kinds of people, even people I didn't know. It was just so much fun! I even got to dance!
I can't wait until another wedding comes along!

Boy oh boy! We had a busy weekend. I'll be making a few different posts to get it all in.
Grandma Georgia came over to watch me again! It was Saturday morning. I'm so proud of Mommy and Daddy. They're getting really involved in politics. They said they want to make sure my future is secure. Isn't that sweet?
When Grandma came over we played a lot while Mommy and Daddy went to the Meramec Township Republican Caucus. Mommy said it was crazy, exciting and nerve racking! She said it was really nice at first when they came in, everyone shook their hands and introduced themselves. Mommy needed 3 more names to put on her list of alternate delegates (ask Mommy, I have no idea) so, she asked a nice lady to put her name down and while the lady was doing so, another lady came up to talk and saw the list, then freaked out. She looked at Mommy and said, "Are you with Ron Paul!?!" Mommy looked at her and the lady said, "Just answer my question!" Mommy told her, "Not neccessarily, we're Republicans in general." Then the lady stormed off and told a bunch of people and got on her phone and called a bunch of other people to come there really quick. Well, she got a few more people to come up, so Mommy no longer had the majority vote. Mommy said she doesn't understand them. They kept talking about how the Republican party was getting smaller and smaller and how we need more people to come to the meetings and get involved, but when we try, they freak out and don't want us to. And even said to let people with more experience handle it. Maybe that's the problem, the people with experience will just keep everything the same and loose more and more Republicans. Maybe they should open their eyes and see that there is a reason so many people are leaving the party and find out what it is that is causing them to be unhappy and change it. That's what Mommy and Daddy were trying to do and the other people didn't like that. But the good news is, Mommy and Ms. Hopper were able to get 9 delegates and 9 alternates (out of 18 total) to go to the State Republican Convention. That's really good, even though they didn't have the majority. They wouldn't allow us anyone to the Congressional District Caucus, though. That's okay. State is great! Mommy and Daddy were 2 of the delegates going to state! How exciting. Mommy and Daddy said we'll probably stop and see Uncle Jon, Aunt Kim, Jordan and Drew during that time. If they're home, of course.
Well, I'll post more later.
