Mommy, Daddy and I all went to Rockwood Reservations yesterday. It was so much fun! We walked on a path through a prarie, saw some deer, then walked through another small trail. It was so much fun that I didn't want to leave! Mommy and Daddy said we would come back again another time. I LOVED it!! I hope we go back soon!

Yesterday was a big day for me! First, Mommy and I played with the
worms and planted some flowers, and then we got cleaned up and went over to Ms.
Marge's house (our neighbor) for lunch. And then!!! We went to the
firehouse!! I got to take a tour of the firehouse, see where the
firefighters sleep, and I got to see an ambulance and fire trucks!! It
was so much fun! Ms. Marge's son, Brian, is a firefighter here where we
live so Ms. Marge went with us and showed me around. She loved it as much
as I did. Then, when we were getting ready to leave, Captain Brian asked
us if we wanted to go for a ride on the fire truck!! I was so
excited! I climbed right up into the fire truck and buckled up. Mr.
Brian said that I did very well because most kids are intimidated by the size
of the fire truck, so they won't get in. I used to be like that, but
Mommy and I read lots of books about firefighters, fire trucks and firehouses
from the library. That was our theme at the library last week so that we
could prepare for our visit. I was a very respectful, well behaved junior
firefighter! Captain Brian gave me a badge!
After the firehouse Mommy and I went to dinner at the senior center that
Grandma Rosemary goes to. It was a fundraiser, so we got to eat Chicken
and Dumplings and have a great time. Then, after that we went to Grandma
Terri's house to water the garden and visit. We had a very long day, but
it was fun...and I didn't have a nap at all! Mommy was so proud of
me! She said, even though I didn't have a nap I was still a very good
little girl!

We have a new friend! Her name is Zac the Rat. She ran in our garage a couple of weeks ago and Mommy caught her. We tried to find the owner, but none of our immediate neighbors had a pet rat. Mommy didn't want her to get hurt, so she brought her and the container inside and put it in the dog cage just in case she got out of the container. When we got home that night my Daddy had shredded some paper for her, then built her a house from a cardboard box and put some carrots in for her. Oh...and put her in a bigger container. He's so nice! A few days later we still didn't know what to do with her so we took her to the vet to make sure she was okay. She let the vet pick her up, take her temp., listen to her lungs and listen to her heart! She was so good. The vet said that she is healthy and just keep an eye on her for the next couple of months. She said if Zac the Rat starts to withdraw or her eyes start looking cloudy or her coat starts looking bad, then she's probably sick with something and we shouldn't touch her. The good news is...Zac has become more and more social!! She climbs all over her cage! Oh...Daddy had ordered her a new cage specifically for rats and rodents! Anyway, she doesn't hide when someone walks up to her cage anymore. She's so cute! Mommy is afraid to hold her though because she tried to taste Mommy. She didn't try to taste Daddy though...I wonder if Mommy had something on her hands. Hmm????
Oh...and her name, Zac the Rat (even though she is a girl) is from Starfall.com because when Mommy told me that a rat was in our garage, I asked her if it was Zac the Rat! Hee hee! Then I just started calling her that all of the time.

So, I brought a caterpillar home from school on Wednesday. It was made out of a knee high stuffed with dirt and twisted like a balloon animal. Mommy said it was cute and what a good job I did...but I didn't explain what was going to happen to it, I just wanted to keep it in it's bag. So today Mommy went to look at my caterpillar again and it had grown hair! But not just any hair...it had green hair! No, it wasn't mold. It was grass. There was grass seed mixed in with the dirt! That was so clever of my teachers. I was so excited to see the grass/hair that I took the whole caterpillar outside with me and sat him in the sun. He had a nice time!
After we played outside today, Mommy and I went out to lunch with our neighbors, Ms. Marge (she moved in a few months ago) and Dean (Officer Sindel's son). They all talked and laughed while I played and gave my Mommy lot's of kisses and giggles. I really like Dean, he makes me smile. I held his hand when we walked to the car, he thought that was so cute. We had so much fun!
After lunch Mommy and I picked up Grandma Rosemary and went to the library. Grandma Rosemary got a library card and Mommy showed her how to use the computer to look for books. Grandma had never used a computer before, so she wasn't too sure, but she did a great job! I got to bring home 3 books. I didn't choose a theme today, I just picked 3 books that looked like fun.
When we got home from the library Daddy showed me a box that I got in the mail. Then he opened it up and there were caterpillars in there. Real CATERPILLARS!!! I'm so excited about that. Pretty soon I will get to watch them turn into butterflies!! I'm so very excited!!
Maybe my Daddy will put a pictures of all of my caterpillars. Both the one that I made and the ones that were sent to me in the mail. Daddy? Will you please?
